What is Media Center?
Each week every student comes to the Media Center for 50 minutes to get experience with technology directly related to the Grade Level Content Expectations (G.L.C.E.’s) which are linked to the Common Core Learning Standards and the ISTE Standards. Students are also learning how to become responsible digital citizens using the COMMON SENSE CURRICULUM. Experiences will include exploring information in a variety of forms including books, a variety of media, software applications and the world wide web. Students will express their learning through a variety of technology tools including movie making, podcasting, and multimedia presentations. All media center projects focus on Michigan Grade Level Technology Expectations with an emphasis on 21st century learning and informational literacy. In addition, students will be taking technology a step further by learning to CODE programs, code Ozobots and use iPad minis to further extend their digital knowledge.
